2020 will forever be etched in history as the year the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic. For me, it became a year of profound personal challenge and unexpected resilience—a year I faced something far more personal: cancer.
It started with a lump on my neck, a seemingly innocuous sign that quietly signaled something much bigger. Like many of us, I was preoccupied with work, life and the growing uncertainties of the pandemic. Little did I know that small lump would take me on a journey that tested my limits physically, emotionally and spiritually.
You have Cancer… Have a Nice Day!
I’ll always remember the moment I received the call. Hearing the words “You have cancer” is like being hit by a wave—disorienting, overwhelming and life-altering. But even in the chaos and uncertainty, there were moments of clarity, courage and gratitude. From navigating the complexities of treatment during a global pandemic to finding strength in unexpected places, my story is one of faith, resilience and the incredible power of community.
Walk with Me
While the experience was fresh in my mind, I recorded a podcast where I share my full story—how I leaned on my family, faith and the extraordinary medical team that helped me through this adversity. I also reflected on the lessons I learned along the way, including the importance of choosing gratitude even in the face of adversity.
